Pelleve: "iron" away those wrinkles

I will be offering a new way to reduce wrinkles and tighten skin. I just learned a new non-surgical technique called Pelleve (http://www.pelleve.com/). By gently heating the skin (no hotter than a hot bath), I can help to improve your skin. It isn't a substitute for surgery, but it is another safe option to improve wrinkles and skin laxity. I'll be offering the service in the next few months, so I'll keep you posted with any changes.

Football

Some exciting news: I am the new football team doctor for Lambert High School in south Forsyth County (http://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/lhs/site/default.asp). This should be fun. I always enjoyed watching football, having grown up in Canton, OH. Some of you may know that as the home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame (http://www.profootballhof.com/). Canton is a fun place to be during the HOF festivities every August. If you are a huge football fan, you should make a visit to the museum. If you ever see it, you would think that it looks like an orange juicer :) Another treat while living in Canton was watching the annual McKinley-Massillon football games. That is one intense rivalry. If you lived in Stark County, you were either a Bulldog or a Tiger.

Hope to see you all out at the games!

Concierge Practices

I know that they will always be a market for concierge practices (where you pay an annual fee for complete access to a doctor.) I don't think it fits me personally. Primary care used to be about personal care 15-20 years ago, and it should still be that way today. That's why I still call my patients about lab results. That's why I give my cell phone number and email address to my patients. Even though I don't have extended hours, everyone can still get a hold of me if they need to. I don't charge extra for that personal touch. I feel that this approach gives you the best care possible.

My other job

Some of you may be wondering why the office is closed on certain days. I also work in an urgent care in Gainesville, interestingly enough called Urgent Care (formerly Quick Care.) My practice just doesn't make enough money yet to be able to pay me a salary. So essentially, I'm working for free for my own practice. In order to pay the bills, I have to work somewhere else. I'm still accessible by phone, so I can be reached if needed. In the meantime, take advantage of me. Since my schedule is light, it's easy to schedule an appointment. Even when we get busy, I will always have same day appointment available. The other benefit right now is the amount of time I can spend with you. Did you ever wish you could talk to a doctor for more than five minutes? Well now is your chance, as most of my appointments last at least thirty minutes.

Doctor of the Day

I will be volunteering as the Doctor of the Day at the Georgia State Capitol building on Friday April 4th. My role will be to staff the medical clinic at the Capitol. I'll take care of any acute medical problems that occur there. No, I won't be injecting any sense into our legislators ; ) I'll still be reachable by phone if any of my patients need to get in touch with me.
